Four small bottles in a box: one of the most sensible ways into Rituals' new scents is the chance to test them, rather than the largest bottle. The brand announced The Founder's Collection and Aeonian on 5 October 2026. Each contains eight fragrances, adding sixteen compositions to the new offering.
According to the announcement, development was undertaken with fragrance house dsm-firmenich. The Founder's Collection builds a more personal story around brand founder Raymond Cloosterman and his family, while Aeonian emphasises a higher perfumery positioning. These are brand narratives defined by Rituals; on their own, they do not tell us which scent is a better choice for a particular person.
Bottle sizes also differ. The Founder's Collection offers 50 and 15 millilitre versions, while the announcement presents Aeonian in 60 and 15 millilitre bottles. The press photograph shows a discovery set labelled feminine, with four 5 millilitre samples. A small bottle is more than a travel accessory: it can offer opportunities to observe the same scent on several different days.
Why is time useful? The International Fragrance Association's professional explanation distinguishes between opening top notes, middle notes that give a composition its body, and more lasting base notes that provide depth. This is a general account of fragrance creation, not an examination of the new Rituals products. It does, however, offer a reason not to treat the first impression after spraying as the composition's definitive face.
The brand communicates longevity promises of 12 and 24 hours respectively for the two lines, alongside named technologies. We do not treat these as independently verified results applying to every wearer. We have not conducted a wear test for this article. From an editorial perspective, personal experience is therefore a more important distinction between the products than which box carries the longer number of hours.
When testing, it is worth comparing a small number of fragrances and returning to them later, once the opening accord has changed. This is our shopping suggestion, not the result of the brand's clinical or performance testing. The volume at which a composition is present is a separate question too: a lasting scent can be restrained, while a quicker opening can be conspicuous.
Both collections feature in the perfume offering on Rituals' Hungarian website. Readers in Hungary should check current sizes and availability there. The German announcement of 6 October promotes a Newness Weekend from 23 to 25 October, but this is a programme in Germany; we do not apply its stated gift or discount conditions to Hungarian stores.
The expansion is interesting commercially too: a brand associated with body care and home fragrance is seeking greater attention with separate perfume lines. A shopper's decision can nevertheless remain entirely personal. The next step should be a slow test, in which the scent unfolding over time, rather than its introductory story, has the final word.
