An oversized soft toy in a drawing room tells a different story from a neatly wrapped present. Miu Miu's Holiday 2026 campaign brings domestic ceremony together with playful disruption. The brand's official account places its cast in an elegant townhouse decorated for the season; Tina Barney made the photographs and Emilie Blichfeldt directed the short film. An original review of the campaign appeared in The Impression on October 27.

The cast includes Crystal Fish, Gigi Hadid, Louisa Jacobson, XiaoWen Ju, Georgia Martin, Momo and Nyla Singleton. Miuccia Prada is creative director, Lotta Volkova styled the campaign and Christopher Simmonds handled art direction. These credits deserve attention alongside the celebrity names: the atmosphere emerges from separate professional decisions about clothing, setting, photography and film.

Our first suggested viewing focus is the contrast between surfaces. The official clothing description brings Upcycled by Miu Miu knits together with embroidered silk dresses, boyish grey tailoring and country flannels with sporty zip-front tops. No single festive fabric dominates. Allowing different dressing situations to meet makes the drawing-room elegance more interesting: knitwear and silk shape the surface around the body in different ways.

Second, consider the relationship between the outer layer and what sits beneath it. The brand describes cotton canvas separates with sequined bralettes, nylon jackets and substantial leopard-print shearling pieces over satin slipdresses. A wearable interpretation for a Hungarian festive wardrobe need not involve buying another dress. A simpler outer layer over a fine satin piece you already own can change the mood of an occasion, provided the lengths and volumes do not overwhelm one another.

The third focus is the attention an object gains through the way someone holds it. According to the official concept, plush bears, rabbits and other toy animals occupy the models' arms like honoured guests. The Impression offers its own interpretation of that gesture: childhood attachments enter adult social behaviour. This is the publication's critical reading, rather than a brand-proven statement about viewers' feelings.

Accessories inhabit the same object-filled environment. The brand's list includes Beau, Vivant and Arcadie bags, with red and silver versions of Wander; loafers and ballerinas are the key footwear. When approaching the film, look beyond the complete outfit. A hand, a bag, a soft toy, or the relationship between a shoe and a hem can also suggest what holds an image together.

Keep the photographer's role distinct from the director's. Barney is responsible for the campaign's still images, Blichfeldt for its moving image. Making that distinction is precisely the purpose of this viewing guide: the same wardrobe asks for different kinds of attention within a single composition and across time.

Open the official Miu Miu film. On a subsequent viewing, choose one pair of materials and notice how your sense of proportion changes when a famous face is no longer guiding your gaze.
